The Fidelity FutureStage program started in Houston in 2007. In partnership with the Houston Symphony, the program offers symphony experiences and coaching to Houston-area public schools. 

Kickoff of the 2010 National Music Program

Students from 16 schools in 4 different cities across the country witnessed the launch of the 2010 Music Program. Four schools from Houston were selected to participate in the program, including: Cesar E. Chavez High School, North Shore Middle School, Ross Sterling High School, S. P. Waltrip High School.

The event was hosted by Actor Dominic Monaghan and featured Actor Jamie Foxx in LA and Actress Joan Cusack in Chicago. Fidelity Investments surprised the 16 schools with a donation of $500,000 worth of new instruments.

 

Fidelity surprises Sharpstown High School students with additional instrument donation

During a client event at Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts, Fidelity donated another $13,000 worth of new instruments to Sharpstown High School students.

Fidelity donates $100,000 worth of new instruments as part of holiday ecard campaign

Fidelity FutureStage and the Houston Symphony developed a holiday ecard campaign and for every ecard sent, Fidelity Investments donated $1 worth of new instruments for students. As a result of this campaign, Fidelity is donating $100,000 worth of new instruments to students in underserved communities across the country, including­ $20,000 worth of instruments to students in Houston.

Sharpstown Sollopa Ten debuts student-written composition

10 students from Sharpstown High participated in an intensive after-school program with Rice University composer, Kurt Stallman to learn musical composition with the intent of creating and playing their own original piece. Students debuted their original composition in front of a live audience at the Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion. Sharpstown HS performs at Methodist Hospital

Students from the Sharpstown High woodwind ensemble had the opportunity to play for visitors to the Methodist Hospital alongside professional musicians from the Houston Symphony.

Fidelity FutureStage premiers at Jones Hall

Throughout the spring, Houston Symphony patrons had the opportunity to sign the Fidelity FutureStage signature walls in support of music education. For every signature gathered, Fidelity Investments donates another dollar toward new musical instruments for students.

 

Select student ensembles from local Fidelity FutureStage schools also performed pre-concert at Jones Hall.

Fidelity FutureStage students meet Grammy Award® winner, Bobby McFerrin

Local students involved in the Fidelity FutureStage composition program were treated to a special meeting with Grammy Award winner, Bobby McFerrin, best known for the song 'Don’t Worry, Be Happy,' before his concert appearance.

Fidelity FutureStage salutes top music educators

Fidelity Investments and the Houston Symphony honored five music educators with the 2008 Fidelity FutureStage Awards, for individuals who passionately and selflessly dedicate themselves to the advancement of youth music programs. Each winner received $1,000 to benefit their individual music programs. Read press release.
